“In this moment, there is plenty of time.
In this moment, you are precisely as you should be.
So what the heck is mindfulness anyhow?
You are a person. You are also a human being… the operative word here is BEing. You BE baby. You exist. So what!? It means that you not only have a body that moves and responds to the neurological impulses of thought-in-brain to body response; it also means that you have an electromagnetic energy field that surrounds and permeates your physical body. This energy field is the greater you. And yes, the spiritual you.
Have you ever heard the saying we are all spiritual beings having human experiences? It’s true and provable , so look into it, there’s ton’s of info online out there.
On to mindfulness… number 1, it’s EASY and 2, it’ll change your life!
Mindfulness is a practice, a way of living your life through the act of noticing and letting that noticing go one thought, emotion, image or sensation at a time.
It can happen as you lay in bed on a weekend morning, while you are stuck in traffic, while you are on hold waiting for your insurance adjuster.
So why would a person want to do such a thing?
A person may not, but being human, you have the capacity, the capability to access vast universes of depth and meaning that is contained within you. All you need do is notice.
Mindfulness begins with a decision to pause. The essential thing is what comes immediately after. The breath. With each slow and deep inhale and exhale is when mindfulness happens. Your breath provides a an entry point into the current moment. Noticing this moment through the breath is you accessing your consciousness. Meaning, you are becoming aware of what would typically be your unconscious experience. You’re literally shifting unawareness into awareness.
Why is this a good thing?
It’s a good thing because it enables you to see how you are blocking what you want in life. From Explosive Anger, Relationship Anxiety, Stress, Worry, Physical Pain, Emotional Pain, Existential Pain, Traumatic Memories to anything under the sun that holds you at bey from a life of health and happiness.
Your Lesson in Mindfulness
Situation: You are doing your day to day normal, typical day and you get a ping. You remember that there is this thing called mindfulness that you want to try.
Action: Great! That was your first step!
Now. Pause and straighten your spine. Notice your body responding to the internal request to do this.
Take a slow and deeeeep breath. Do this 2 or 4 times.
Notice and scan your body to see if there are any area’s of discomfort, then using your powers of imagination to send your breath to those areas of the body as you adjust your position to find greater comfort.
Once you find your comfort, release all thoughts. Imagine your thoughts simply flying out of your mind. Then breathe.
You can do this for as many breaths as you want, it’s all up to you. There is no “right” way to be mindful other than be mindful. The length of time dedicated is up to you. The ultimate goal here is to approach this with a sense of adventure and do it for as long as it’s effective. And it is your job to figure out what works for you. Starting out, you may only do 5 full breaths, perhaps you can do a full minute.
With consistency, you will desire longer periods of mindfulness and you will notice more things.
By adding mindful noticing to your life, the quality of your life will shift. Here are some of the things that can happen.
- You will start to open to your innate sensitivity, and this is a good thing.
- By connecting to your sensitivity, you will begin to find out things like…
- You’re more intuitive than you ever knew
- Your waking life will become more magical
- Your dream time will become more colorful and meaningful
- Your bullshit detector will become more finely attuned
- There will be more synchronicities and “signs” that will show up and these are all good things.
There is a down side to becoming more mindful in your life. You will begin to see what is NOT working or as we say in the healing biz… what is no longer serving you. This can be tricky as it can bring the imbalance taking place in the various areas of your life into sharp focus. This will contrast dramatically with the relationships and experiences that are balanced and serving you well. Although this might be troubling to take in at first it is ultimately a blessing for you to know what is working or not in your life. It’s up to you to decide how to proceed once this awareness occurs.

I’ve been noticing the progress we have been making as a collective. It is powerful. Can you feel it? I’ve been feeling a powerful welling up of energy in my heart, and it feels as if it just might burst open. In fact it periodically does! Kaboom! Yet, I continue to periodically “tend” to the moments where I perceive feelings of being stuck and stressed, off balance.
Here are some helpful techniques for shifting your consciousness away from the old outdated “reality” (what quantum theorist increasingly show is illusory and simply subjective perspective) into in the NOW of the New Year!
In this shifting time of dynamic back and forths in the the power structure of this illusion, it can be a little funky living a life in the typical day to day, given the particular part of the illusion you are “stationed” in. As you may know, in my everyday (ok, lets just call it what it is – illusory reality) I am a mom, wife, hypnotherapist, sister, friend and the list goes on.
My point is not to blast holes in the reality that I have intentionally created. I happen to be quite fond of the hologram that I am participating in. However, my goal is to throw open the cupboard doors on a way of looking at this personal/collective reality to assist with the increase in demand for integration and forward movement in a functional, easy way. A way that serves my/your/our highest purpose.
Looking back on the past year and beyond, you may notice that you and everyone around you has gone through a lot of change. As we move into this new year and more highly vibrating energy of 2015, how do we as awakening beings continue to grow and further refine our mastery in the light arts while continuing our dance in the shifting illusion?
The sensation of resistance, or struggle is a perception designated by our conscious minds over the course of our life experience. The raw data that initiated this designation was neither good nor bad when it happened, yet through modeling of behavior from others and our conscious mind, we assigned a way of perceiving this and related experiences. When the sensation of resistance occurs, the conscious mind is chiming a signal. It’s saying “Hello! Change is being requested!” The conscious tends to feel more “at home” with patterned experiences and familiarity. Change takes focus, effort, intention. This shows up in our body language and breathing patterns as stress, tension and aggravation, which can lead to anger, resentment and fear.
In terms of shifting and disentangling, this signal really only means one thing. That attention is needed. It’s like a light going on in your car informing you that your engine needs maintenance. So what does attention to this signal look like? It looks like integration. Take a moment and imagine how the term integration shows up for you. For me, integration looks like the merging of two gently moving streams into one. Integrating aspects of self can seem counter-intuitive from the perspective of the 3rd density story/illusion. Especially when we have developed powerful internal mechanisms to block and make a U-turn away from these moments. When we have these moments of resistance, it is at this precise time that a tremendous opportunity for healing and growth awaits us.
Pause instead of reacting.
Often, our focus on the event that we are experiencing amplifies the intensity with which we are feeling it. Our subconscious mind has also been patterned to respond to stimulus with a reaction. By pausing, and taking our foot off the go pedal, we can create and initiate a disruption from the patterned response, and place the moment in a type of suspended animation and take a step back. I liken this to the moments in the movie The Matrix where everything pauses and you get a 360 degree view of the scene. Do that. By taking a step back you are literally changing your participation in the illusion from a passive to an active participant. Re-programming it to allow for new possibilities.
Take a deep breath.
Breathing in at this moment allows for the pause and new perspective to activate. By breathing, allowing the new, more expanded imagery to fill in, you further solidify the expansion.
Connect with Intention.
Intentionality draws our thoughts from an unconscious, or subconscious state into the light of our consciousness. The energy of our intention sets the tone for what we desire. Once initiated, this carves out a new if/then pathway in the neurology of the brain as well as the structure of the illusion, immediately impacting and altering how the future unfolds.
Gifting the “Allow”
Allowing is the gift of “letting go in action”. When we allow after setting our intention, we “un-press” the pause button and move into a state of unfoldment. This is also the ultimate act of faith in expression. Faith in these moments, along with the notion of “letting go” can seem counter intuitive and down right hard. However, by exercising and strengthening our “muscle memory” in this process we enable ourselves to move through these difficult moments with split second precision, reconnecting us with our inner mastery; the mastery we came to the planet to express.
As we sail into the new year, we reflect upon where we have been and where we are going. We can’t know now how events and happenings will play out, all we know is that they will. By fortifying our skill set for effortless transitioning in thinking and action, we will be prepared and ready for the abundance that awaits us.

With all this talk out there about cleansing, purifying and purging ourselves of the last vestiges of the 3rd dimensional reality or as they refer to in the Law of One material, third Density, it’s tough to get any relief from the continual energetic onslaught that many of us are experiencing. Whether it be solar flares, detaching from fear and war paradigms or managing the calm center in a sea of chaos.
As a hypnotherapist and holistic life coach, I get the chance to work with people who are experiencing this profound paradigm shift on all levels and in infinite permutations. The number one complaint I get from clients is their frustration around the struggle to shift stuck negative thinking in a way that is quick, easy and foolproof.
People are so busy with their daily lives that taking time away from work, family obligations, errands, etc., to hold the light and BE the peace enough to manifest a new Golden Age into physicality is often too overwhelming to contemplate, let alone manage and maintain.
This brings me to my technique. My favorite thing to do is to help people come by offering fun and creative ways to shift consciousness and generate upliftment from within. In hypnotherapy, the general goal is to create change without having to actually “think” about it.
To heal effortlessly. To connect with the subconscious aspects of self so that new more aligned and appropriate internal agreements can be made. To literally overwrite the outdated programming. This may seem daunting at first blush, but I assure you, it’s as easy as daydreaming!
Perhaps you are the type of person that gets thrown off by bad traffic, or maybe there is a person in your life that causes you to doubt your spiritual progress every time you run into them or hear their name! Rest assured, we all have those people in our lives!
So what is a well intentioned spark of the divine to do?
This is one of my all time favorite techniques because it can be used anytime and it just takes a few moments and what’s more, it utilizes the parts of us that are most fun to play with! Imagination and color!
Here is what you do:
First, pause from your activity. Make sure you are seated or in a position that facilitates having your eyes closed for a minute or two. Breathe easily and deeply. Close your eyes (unless your are driving or otherwise needing your vision). Next, notice that feeling, thought or sensation that’s got you so tense and stuck in negativity.
Here is the cool part. While focusing and acknowledging that this thing has got a hold on you, mentally scan your physical body to notice where in your body you have corresponding tightness. It often has a distinct location and can very commonly be associated with one more more chakras.
As you tune into the location(s) of the tightness, see it with your inner vision or with your ability to pretend by using imagination to visualize the shape and color of this tightness. Be sure to keep breathing easily. Next and without judgement, imagine a rainbow spectrum of color before you. This rainbow is intelligent energy and can work easily with your own mind, body, spirit to create powerful shifts. See the energy interacting with the tightness. Notice what color(s)interact and interface with the blocked tight energy.
See the color(s) work in cooperation with the block to shift and transform it; whatever that means to you. This process will be unique to you. There will be no correct or incorrect way to do this. Usually, this is all that is needed to release the blocked energy. Sometimes more deeply entrenched energy takes more time. If more remains, that is okay. All that is needed at this time is a noticing of what is taking place.
I believe that these blocks are being noticed so that they can be transmuted and moved out of your energy bodies. Often, more time is needed to integrate the new more streamlined higher vibrational frequencies into your being. Replacing old with new. It’s like a download of a new computer operating system. It can require some time and focus to complete the process, but well worth the attention.
Now, take a deep breath. Make sure you are grounded to the planet, and continue on with your daily routine and praise yourself for taking the opportunity to take care of yourself and simultaneously heal the planet.

Do you consider yourself a game changer or leader? Why or why not?
It’s common for people who haven’t been in positions of leadership to find it difficult to imagine themselves in positions of power or authority.
First, let me preface that statement by saying leadership need not represent a position of dominance. In the consciousness shift taking place, leadership is simply a willingness to show up and commit to an offer of integrity and personal excellence.
Contrary to what you’ve been told or what you may perceive about your capacities, everyone has innate leadership ability.
Not all individuals will feel called to be a leader. However, my interpretation of leadership is inclusive and collaborative as opposed to isolating and stifling. My goal is to inspire those of you who feel a sense of limitation around your potential leadership to imagine the possibility that you too have something to offer the world that’s valuable and significant.
What’s important to understand is that your leadership doesn’t need to look anything like another person’s leadership.
A way to contemplate your leadership is to start by identifying the aspect of yourself that you’re most joyously connected with.
What do you do when you’re not doing what you must to get by? What hobbies do you love? Do you love nature? Do you feel an affinity for babies or animals? Do you like to write or dance?
One of the things I enjoy doing is picking up trash on the side of the road or while I’m walking in the park. I also bring a grocery bag along with me when I exercise and that allows me to beautify my environment while I give loving kindness to my physical body in the form of movement.
If I were to take my trash clean up to a level of leadership, one way to do this would be to get a group of friends together for a park or beach clean up on the weekend. I could post it on a social networking site to let other like-minded folks have an opportunity to join in if they feel so inclined.
And that is it. I decide, set an intention and create an opportunity to express myself and then provide an opportunity for others to join and impact change on a grander scale. This is an example of taking a seemingly mundane activity and breathing expansion into it for a more powerful impact and platform for others to participate in.
I could envision a world cleanup day where everyone in the world could spend an hour cleaning up their local park or neighborhood. I imagine that activity instilling pride in a community. Perhaps this could expand to be a world clean-up day every month. Imagine what the world would be like if all human beings felt as though their hobby or extra curricular activity had value to change the world for the better. That’d be a game changer.
The time has arrived in the human collective experience where the old structures of elitist power and subjugation no longer have a part to play in the furtherment of humanity as a whole. It is incumbent upon those who feel called to to design, create and implement a personal belief system that is empowering to the self and to the whole. How that’s expressed is the creation of the initiating soul(s).
It’s time for humanity to take off our collective training wheels and start riding. Fear of falling, like in learning to ride a bike, will not stop us from learning to ride with balance and grace.
This new light force of riders will then become the leaders that encourage and support the advancement and blossoming of this golden New Age, where all beings are allowed to thrive and shine.
